Flashback Friday...

Staci's Wedding 1995

Can you tell which one is me? I am to the left of the bride - why am I wearing white to someone else's wedding?? My two roomies are to the right - Heather and Pepper. We were all good friends at ISU. I wonder where Staci is now...

High School Musical 3...

Did you see it? Did you like it? Well, I haven't seen it yet, but word from Gabe and Jesse is that it was great! Gabe went on Friday, and we let him choose who got to go with him. Can you believe he chose Jesse over ME? Huh - interesting.

So crazy story to go along with the movie...they got to the theater, got the goodies, and watched the previews. The movie comes on and Jesse is thinking, "This is an interesting beginning. Isn't this rated G?" A few minutes in, he immediately pushes Gabe's head to look at the floor, says "don't look up", and runs out of the theater to tell them to shut off the movie! It was playing "Sex Drive"! What??? There was a programming error. They opened up extra theaters that night for HSM 3 and apparently this particular theater was previously playing Sex Drive. Needless to say, there were some ANGRY parents!

Elder and Sister Madsen... aka Dad and Mom

My Mom and Dad came to visit this weekend. I sure am going to miss those visits... And they took Emma home with them - she couldn't get out of our house quick enough when she found out she got go to their house!Well, I promised to tell how my parents go their mission call. Dad retired a few years ago from teaching Auto Mechanics at school and now continues to work at his "shop" from home. He always had a business while I was growing up. He is very popular among the farmers. It's hard to find an honest mechanic sometimes. Anyways - they planned on serving a mission sometime in the future...maybe in a few years. Well, they were very surprised when they were called into the Stake Presidents office and told that the First Presidency was calling them on a service mission to Missouri - specifically Adam-ondi-ahmen. Wow! Needless to say, there were a little shocked! So the process of going on a mission for them went in reverse. They got their call and then they did all of the paper work. Dad will be doing mechanic work and mom will do Family History Work part of the time and help take care of the grounds. I don't think they could have been called on a more perfect mission! I has "Frank and Donna Gayle" written all over it! I am so proud of them for accepting the call and grateful for their sacrifice, service, and example to my children! xoxo

Fall Break in Pictures...

Fall Break this year had the most PERFECT weather! I took the kids to Barnyard Boo and Cornbelly's - both at Thanksgiving Point. Good times had by all. I didn't get any pictures of our quick trip to Idaho, but we spent a few days there with Wayne and Susan. Gabe adores his cousins and his Grandma. Thanks for letting us stay!

Emma waved like a true Rodeo Queen the entire time she rode her pony:
We had to wait in a very...long...line to ride the pony. Emma was so patient:

Gabe had to take home a souvenior ear of corn from the corn maze. Then he tried to make popcorn in the microwave. It didn't work.

Tagged

I was tagged by Katie to do this fun tag....go to your 4th picture file and the 4th picture in that file. Here is what I found:

This is Conference Weekend Fall 2006. We drove up to Sundance in between sessions. Emma was only 5 months old. Gabe decided to brave the freezing cold water. I think he is wanting one of us to save him here.

I tag anyone who wants to play :)

Flashback Friday...

A few of my high school friends our Senior year. So serious.

As I reconnect with many of my high school and college friends through this crazy blogging world, I am reminded of how grateful I am for all of the friends in my life. Many I don't even talk to any more, or I have no idea where they are...but they are still my friends. And I have a feeling that if we were to meet again, we'd pick up right where we left off.

So if you have a blog and I don't know that you do...you better leave a comment so I can reconnect!!!

I must have a big mouth...

...too many of you already knew where my parents were called to. For those who don't ---they will be doing a Service Mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman. Yep. Pretty cool. And a really cool story to go with it. Later.

Flashback Friday...

Conference Weekend
October 2005

This is all of Jesse's Family (in 2005, anyways.) When the stars are all in alignment, we all meet at the cabin in Island Park for Conference Weekend. I think 2005 was the last time we were all able to be there. I guess October 2009 will be our next one.

We sit around and play games, take a ride in the boat, drive into West Yellowstone, take nature walks, make cards, and eat lots of yummy food! Always a fun weekend.

ps...Yes, I know it is Sunday. One of these days my Flashback will actually be posted on a Friday :)
