Gabe's Snaggle Tooth...

Gabriel's front tooth has been loose for weeks, and he would not let us pull it! By this weekend, it was hanging by a thread. He gave new meaning to the phrase "snaggle tooth". We convinced him to let us tie a piece of dental floss around the tooth and tie the other end to a door. Hey, we have heard that this works, but have never actually seen it. Why not try it on your own kids? So, Jesse carefully tied one end of the floss around Gabe's front tooth....

Of course, Emma had to be part of the process...Cheese

Here is Gabe smiling after Jesse tied the other end of the floss to the bathroom door handle...So far so good...

At this point, Gabe starts to get a little nervous about the whole process. He starts to fuss and tell us it is going to hurt. "Only for a second", was our reply. "Come on, Gabe, it won't hurt that bad...." I am getting in position to hold his body while Jesse slams the door shut, when Miss Emma comes out of no where and pushes down on the middle of the dental floss....POP! Out comes Gabe's tooth right on the floor! Way to go Emma!!!

Doesn't she look so proud of herself???

Jesse and I are still giggling every time we replay this scene in our minds. It was so hilarious!!

That's kind of like Jaren's last loose tooth. He'd already lost three, but this one seems to be hanging on an extra long time. He said he tried to pull it out, but it hurt to bad. He was a "snaggle tooth", for at least three days! Anyway, I had finally convinced him to get rid of it by the end of the day and he'd agreed. Jaren and Hayden were sitting on the kitchen floor playing while I made dinner and Jaren went to stand up right under Hayden, and POP! out came the tooth via Hayden's chin. Those siblings are sure good for lots of things!!!

Love it! The ways teeth fall out these days! At least Jesse wasn't trying to get the plyers out like our dad!!!! :)

So... I just relived my 2nd tooth story. We had done the same thing when mine was loose, all the hype, you know. Dad tied it to my bedroom door and just as he was getting ready to slam it, Justin comes running around the corner and trips over the string. Popped right out! I'm convinced that's the easiest way to get it done.

I guess you still don't know what happens when you slam the door. There will still be an element of surprise for the next tooth!! The story couldn't have had a more perfect ending. It was a whole family event!!

That's is too cute. And, how can you get mad at that little Emma?!?

Spencer once pulled out his tooth as a contest -- the first person to pull their tooth out got $5 or something like that. (we told you how he's motivated...)
